Carved works by Phil Belcher
This exhibition was held at the Hastings City Art Gallery, July–October 2013.
The works in E kata te rakau focused on activating form
while presenting a subject matter that transmitted
the values inherent in our unique environment
of Aotearoa/New Zealand
Tiakina ngā manu, ka ora te ngāhere
Tiakina te ngāhere, ka ora te toi whakairo
Tōku maunga, tōku hī, tōku hā!
To ensure all living things in our ecosystems
remain in balance with each other,
in our every breath,
is something that is vital for our future.
